Jiayi Lin is a designer and digital artist based in London, UK, and graduated from the Royal College of Art. He is the co-founder of A0 LAB in London. His work is rooted in the observation of contemporary social phenomena, reimagined as socio-political conflicts within speculative future contexts. Through 3D visual storytelling and future-oriented thinking, he creates fictional scenarios that explore potential futures. His works have been exhibited on international platforms, including the 2024 London Design Festival and the 2024 Milan Design Week.

Statement

My artistic practice unfolds through immersive 3D visual narratives. In exploring the subtle relationships between people and spaces, I draw continual inspiration from present-day social realities, interweaving them with theories of future design and speculative thinking to construct a bridge between the now and the unknown.

Influenced by my background in spatial design, my work deconstructs the imprints of real-world environments and reconstructs them into imagined future landscapes. These invite viewers to reconsider the complex interactions between space, technology, and society. My practice seeks to break away from traditional narrative frameworks, using speculative fictions of possible futures as vessels to provoke critical reflection on current lifestyles and our collective destiny.

This act of “future projection” is not intended as prediction, but rather as the construction of a safe space for intellectual experimentation—one that explores alternative ways of living. I aim to spark within the audience a profound contemplation and boundless imagination of what our digital-era futures might hold.
